Thamesis

A six month residency provided time for both research and physical exploration of the Thames, (derived from the Brittonic name for the river.) Research included mudlarking, archival surveys, rowing and walking the historic Thamespath. London’s river has a rise and fall of 23 feet; it is an economic resource, a maritime route, a boundary, a source of fresh water, food and leisure. This body of work uses different medium to explore the physicality, history and environmental challenges of the multifaceted Thames.
